For the first time, the essential studio recordings of Britain’s legendary Zombies are assembled in one place on vinyl. This set includes their two original US albums: The Zombies Featuring She’s Not There/Tell Her No and Odessey & Oracle; two important compilations: I Love You and R.I.P; as well as a bespoke collection of rare singles and UK only album tracks: Oddities And Extras. This is the most comprehensive vinyl collection of The Zombies’ work ever assembled. The Zombies Featuring She’s Not There/Tell Her No (1965) – Their first album issued in the United States is a unique gathering of tracks that slightly mirrors their UK debut, Begin Here (while adding their two earliest hit singles). It also features selections from their rare self-titled UK EP. I Love You (1966) – This compilation was originally issued in Sweden and Japan to meet the overwhelming demand for a second album from the group. However, it is primarily made up of tracks from their contemporary singles, which were more popular outside of their homeland. Odessey & Oracle (1968) – The band’s masterwork, recorded prior to their split in 1967 and released the following year. Over time, the album’s following and critical esteem has risen to the highest level. It now stands as one of the greatest albums of the past fifty years. R.I.P. (2000) – A compilation of initially unissued recordings from 1964 through 1968, this special album was assembled in the wake of the band’s US chart success with “Time Of The Season.” When the single proved hard to follow, this fully-formed long player was sadly shelved and not exhumed until decades later. Oddities & Extras (2019) – Assembled specifically for this box set, this gathering features essential single sides, songs from the Bunny Lake Is Missing soundtrack as well as two rare outtakes. It stands alone as a wonderful album in its own right, highlighting the band’s prime 1964-1966 period. |
